A Gift For The Sewist

Sewing becomes lofty in its gadgets and potential to acquire a tool or material. I truly find that every project is so unique and the sprawling supply lists add to my need for creative storage.

Sewing is not a minimal hobby. I have embraced the fun tools that come along with it and the space it commands. In a separate blog post I’ve shared a list of sewing essentials.

However, this post is not the simplistic guide. Rather, a gift being something that you may not need or purchase for yourself! These items are both fun and practical while inspiring further sewing and creativity.

All of these items we use often within the studio:

  1. Clover Stick n Stitch Tool - this is a wonderful tool for new sewist’s to practice keeping a tidy seam allowance.

  2. Clover Pen Style Chalk - An easy, playful and refillable marking tool, especially helpful when marking stretch fabrics.

  3. Glitter Sewing Clips - Sparkly sewing clips! A gentle securing tools for young hands and wonderful for delicate fabrics.

  4. Bobbin Saver - This circular organizer is durable storage to keep bobbins tidy and accessible.

  5. Magnetic Pin Caddy - A practical magnetic keeps pins safely tucked in their place and aids in their cleanup.

  6. Sorting Pin Cushion - Organizes machine needles to identify them more easily.

  7. Wrist Pincushion - A fun and accessible alternative to a pincushion.

  8. Gutermann Thread - A polyester sew- all thread in a variety of colors.

  9. Spool & Bobbin Buddies - We use these often in the studio to hold the thread with the matching bobbin.

  10. Wash Away Wonder Tape - We use this double sided tape in the studio for inserting zippers!

  11. Fabric Savvy Book - A helpful reference tool to better understand fabric.

  12. Snaps Kit- We use this kit in the studio and add snaps to many of our projects! (Not pictured)

  13. Zippers- These zippers we use in the studio for our classes. I love the colors and the circular pull.

  14. Pom Pom Makers - Pair this with yarn for endless projects and fun.

Please share with us what your favorite sewing notions are?!
